Looking for a multipurpose rifle?

Hi, im looking for a multipurpose rifle to purchase, Iv been looking at maybe a Ak-47 or a Mini 14, they both shoot the same rounds. I have enough 22.s dont need any more. lol. how much does the 7.62 Cartridge Going for now anyways…any and all info would help…also if you have an alternative to the 2 i listed, plz do so.
was that really necessary, I meet plenty of other shooters at the range weekly gregg and not one of them are as rude as you were.
AND i already have a 20 guage.
im not picking a fight LOL…but if my question makes you say “o god” why would you bother posting it…cause im not gunna bother listening to your advice

General all around rifle…..

Let me clear something up…. The Ruger Mini 14 fires the .223 cartridge… Not the same ammo as an AK47 which uses 7.62x39MM…..

The Ruger Mini 30 uses 7.62x39MM…..

I happen to own both the Ruger Mini 14 and Mini 30 rifles and can say they are very nice guns…. I would avoid the AK47 as a handy all around rifle… My main problem with those is they are not polite looking…. My Ruger rifles rarely draw much attention to me – But when I pull an AK out at the range everybody looks…. If you want to do a little target shooting, varmint shooting or have a firearm for protection around the farm I suggest the Ruger rifles…….. They are know to be quite reliable and use cheap ammo…

The Ruger Mini 14 is more accurate than the Mini 30…. When hunting the Ruger Mini 30 is accurate when its cold… But when target shooting – once the barrel gets warmed up it gets pretty inaccurate….

The Mini 14 has more long range reach but less power under 100 yards than the Mini 30…..

I cant really say one is better than the other — I own and enjoy both my Ruger rifles….

A word about cheap ammo… Yes some of that steel case 7.62x39MM is real cheap – but the downside is that it fouls the rifle up a bit so you got to stay on top of keeping it clean…. Use Brass cased stuff….
