In New York, is it legal to hang decorative things from the rear view mirror of your car?

I know that sometimes people hang dice or something from their mirror – I have a Christmas ornament that I thought would be a cute talking point when people get into my car. Is this legal, or does it fall somehow under the distraction laws to have something dangling below your mirror?

I used to live in NY and yes it is legal to hang things from your mirror as long as they are fairly small, and do not obstruct your view when driving or looking right out your windshield. I used to and still have a decorative skyline picture CD hanging on my mirror and nobody ever said anything. Again as long as it is small and does not interfere with your sightline either front or back you should be fine.
