Has anyone any tips or advice on scrapbook making?

I keep thinking of compiling a scrapbook……I thought I would start this year. A complete beginner……..how do I start?? Is there a special book? ( all sorts of daft questions when you do not know anything about a subject…….. )

All the above answers are good. In addition check out the crafts/hobbies section in your local library. They will almost certainly have some books on scrapbooking/memory albums.This will cost you nothing whereas the monthly magazines or buying books can be quite expensive.

Try asking round all your friends, workmates and family. This hobby is so popular now that it is likely someone you know is already doing it and will be able to give you some help. Many scrapbookers form groups as this helps with advice, swapping items and sharing the more expensive equipment as well as socialising.

Sign up for an evening class or one day workshop. A course can be expensive but usually quite a lot of material and use of equipment is included in the fee and it is a good way to learn different techniques and steal other student’s ideas.

Go to a show such as one of the Hobbycraft fairs held all over the country or to one of the Thorpe Park shows.

Do go for it. Scrapbooking is one of the most enjoyable hobbies. I love trying to track down just the right embellishments to enhance my photos. The finished album(s) are far superior to traditional photo albums and people will not be bored when you bring them out to show even if they are not interested in the subjects of your photos. Finally you have produced a heritage piece that will be treasured down the generations in your family.

Making Scrapbooks For Fun and For Money

If you are one of those creative and enterprising people who love to work on scrapbooks, you might want to turn your hobby into a very lucrative home business. Setting up your business

To get started with your scrapbook making business, you will need to clear out a space in your house where you can work undisturbed. If you don’t have an extra room in the house which you can turn into an office, just find a quite corner with good ventilation and lighting. You may also send out press releases to free public relations websites and join forums to invite people over to your site. Although there are really no guarantees that press releases and open invitations at forums will generate you some business, it can still help your site gain some mileage.

For instance, you can offer 50% discount to your first 10 clients and offer 20% discount on repeat orders. The good thing about giving out discounts is that a lot of people will be enticed to buy your product to avail of the discounts.
