My system is dead – is backup, but can still be saved …?

Hello, I have watched some of the other "Back Up" Q & A I'm not sure if my problem is slightly different (?) Any person has a horrible virus that can not go online (this is from another PC). System Restore has not worked. I have a lot of backups, but I've never tried before backup. What is the overall process, in particular, I worry about the size back to – all I have some CDs and is part of the memory sticks. Although compressed, will not have my data (even for being ruthless and cutting / removal loads) as (ie, documents and photos, yes, but not my Windows and programs)? So what / how do I get this? Could please, add a little more detail, such as what program to use for backup? Or all the backup files only thing that creeps and dropped on a memory card / CD? This information is vital to help restore. So go ahead and edit your question and I will edit my answer also … Thank you.
