sold. We do not know the auction company there was. How do we know if it is sold and what are the next steps?

Hi Teresa, auction? When talking foreclosure – do you mean the sale of the sheriff (on the courthouse steps)? or was sold by the bank through an auction house? Ok, if you are talking about the auction on the courthouse steps – definitely sold because the bank has an automatic bid to the amount owed. Depending on your area of the country – The bank usually has the highest bid and get the house back after the redemption period has ended. If this is an auction company Hudson and Marshall as or Williams and Williams – was later sold probably because these auctions are usually "absolute" meaning the highest bidder wins regardless of amount, however, Sometimes the bank says "no" and then relist with a realtor. Much depends on the homes of real value. If you are working with a real estate agent try to find it for you. Good Luck
